Rehearsal for an event at the US Grant. Photo by Manny Rotenburg. Dancers: Zoe Marinello-Kohn and Max Tchernychev. Fellow San Diego choreographer Jean Isaacs has often "accused" me of being a classicist. For those not in the know, a classicist values form and restraint over emotion and feeling in art. I don't know whether this is strictly true.

And I do think that sometimes dancers try to express to much through a sort of pantomime style of acting (which has its place) rather than explore how then tension of specific choreographic choices can give the audience the same message.

Daily Stuff - Its April Fool's Day. Never liked April Fool's Day much. At least its on a Sunday, so that minimizes the possibility of work related April Fool's Day jokes.
